Happy Birthday to me! Happy 27th Birthday!

I’m into my 27th year into this earth and still going strong. But I have to say, for the first time in my life, this is the first Birthday I’ve had quietly and by myself. It’s something different, something new, and in the end I don’t know how to react or feel at the moment.

Today was like any other day. It’s my second day back at work coming from annual leave and settling into my new work environment here in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. It was a very busy day at work today and it was a long one also as I had to present and meet a work partner after work and I didn’t get home until 7:30pm. The nice thing that happened today is that my new work colleagues, whom I’ve known only for a very short time bought me a cake, which was delicious. It was very nice of them to do so as they did not have to, but it shows the close knit family environment we have down here and it made me feel very much welcomed.

So I’m happy. Not to the extent of reaching the level of happiness I long for, but I’m content happy. As everything at the moment is going somewhat smoothly; sure there’s a lot of bumps on the road, I can’t really complain much.
